Had a rather hectic weekend in the Borders with the girls, did more crocheting and a teensy bit of drinking so didn’t get a lot of photographing done.
I did, however get a nice scarf in a charity shop which I pulled apart in preparation for a winter hat project, photos to follow…

Inspired by Disdressed’s post about polishing silver with baking soda, salt and aluminium foil, I immediately lept up and polished the salt cellar and a dish I’ve been trying to polish for ages. I highly recommend trying her method, it fizzes, smells funny, leaves an entertaining residue and is really granola!

Along with the jumper, I found two Dorothy Sayers books (Have His Carcase and Clouds of Witness) and a lovely copy of Cold Comfort Farm, illustrated by Quentin Blake.
This is why Batman shouldn’t let me near the Oxfam bookshop unsupervised…

I had to rip out all my crochet the other night, very depressing.. so I tried to cheer myself up by going shopping (I know, very sensible..). However, I did quite well. I got a lovely lambswool and silk jumper and had much fun pulling out someone else’s knitting!
