It’s the first night of Pesach tonight, and for the first time in years we’re going to a seder at someone else’s house.

In fact, thinking about it, I don’t think I’ve ever been to a seder at a non-relative’s house. It’ll make a nice change from the last few years where I was the lone Jewish person with a tablefull of enthusiastic friends.

I’m trying a few new things this year, mainly new recipes. I’m hoping they’ll become part of my Pesach traditions, like the sponge cake (made with eight eggs and triceps of steel) and the nut-free haroset I make for Batman which I secretly prefer to the real stuff.
